Reviews findings of the National Commission on Children and Disasters, an independent, bipartisan body established by Congress and the President to identify gaps in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for children and to make recommendations to close the gaps. The report includes recommendations related to child physical and mental health, traumatic exposure, housing, transportation, evacuation, emergency management, and specific needs related to child-serving settings, such as schools, juvenile justice, and child welfare.
